Holistic Healing – Emotional Freedom Technique
Holistic healing, but first we will need to take the time to describe what holistic is. Holistic implies a wholeness, or a completeness as in totality of body, mind and spirit. Otherwise it is not whole and in fact is then in parts or better like fragments or pieces.
The heart has long been used as a symbol to refer to the spiritual, emotional, moral, and also the intellectual core of a human being. It too was believed to be the seat of the human soul, and is still used poetically to refer to the soul, and of course to represent love. (Paraphrase of Wikipedia definition of the Heart)
In our innocence, and our zeal to express to another our love for them, somewhere along the way; we with our sentimental selves have drawn a zigzag line down the middle of a heart as a way to represent the shared feelings between two people. It means that when these persons are apart from each other, they feel torn apart. So is it a wonder than, that when the couple is no longer together that there can be issues with becoming whole again? A part of you is with someone else. And you were in total agreement to give that part of you away, but since then have forgotten that you gave half of you away and are now trying to make it through life with only the half of you that is left. And this emotional and sometimes traumatic episode can even split a persons’ personality, and leave that person feeling unfulfilled. And not just in love, other incidents that happen to us in life can bring about feelings of incompleteness and leave emotional issues behind; birth’s, death’s, changing jobs, divorce, changing schools, being bullied or other significant life events.
The Emotional Freedom Technique is a useful tool for holistic healing in events like these. Other issues where this technigue can be employed are;
- Feeling like one is blocked
- When things just aren’t going right
- A move to a major city
- Moving outside of your comfort zone
- Repetitive dreams or nightmares
- Sexual Problems
- Feelings of Abandonment
- Phobias or irrational fear, anger, sadness, guilt or any other negative emotion
- Feelings of confusion disconnection from life, feeling spacey or not all here
For sure, we all do not experience everything in the same way. Some emotional events can leave one in a state of neurological disorganization. And there will always be those who do not understand that all of us don’t handle things in the same way. Some are better at it than others. Hopefully now, the Emotional Freedom Technique will now be employed instead of saying mean things like, get with the program, or snap out of it and perhaps before the rush to be placed on psychoactive drugs.
