Christian Meditation

In Christian Meditation, we remain still, so that God,  the Divinity that is within us may communicate with us. Meditation means many different things to many people.  Acording to the sacred writings, we must distinguish between Prayer and meditation. There are many types of prayers where we speak to God. Prayers for thanksgiving, guidance, and the like.

This is the difference between meditaion and Prayer.  When we remain still, it does not mean we make our minds blank, but rather that we wait for a response.  It is the focusing of our mind and body to the Divine within us to receive the messge that comes through to us. We spend time going here and there and taking part in many activities. These things are important because we live in a physical body and in a physical world, and we have physical needs.

Yet, there is another part of us, which needs to be considered so as to keep our mind, body and soul in balance. Referring than to the witness of the Word in;  1 Thessalonians 5:23 And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Stillness, then  is important and a way to prepare us to receive what God has for us. It will help us to be able to receive from God and to be strengthened and fortified. First we must:

  1. Be Sincere
  2. Be enthusiastic to be successful it must be so important to us that we become enthusiastic
  3. We must work at it; anything worth achieving is worth working for. If it is not, then it is not worth having
  4. We must be persistent. Paul reminded us that our Spirit is willing , but the flesh is weak.  the Spirit of God is within us and we need to learn through meditation to become aware of the Spirit of God within us.

God is the source of life within us.The scriptures tell us, that it is in Him that we move and breathe and have our being.  God is the very breath of life within us whether we know it or not. Turning again to the witness of Scripture in Genesis 1:27  So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.

The more we realize it and believe it the more it becomes real to us as we tune into the thought vibrations of God, we expose our self to his Eternal light.  We recognize God’s image within ourselves.  We recognize God by forgetting about ourselves, and “that” problem and instead then recognize Him in us.

When we meditate, we become more aware of His presence.  Most of us would not speak to someone on the phone without first dialing the number and making sure that we’re in contact with whom we want to communicate with. Yet, a lot of people think they are meditating and praying when they are begging God for both little and big things before they take the time to do one important thing; Be Still and Know that I am God. In being still and relaxing, we can meditate and contact the store house of blessings that lies within us, The Christ Power. Of which we all have, if we would just take the time to recognize it, and get in touch with it and then allow God to handle whatever the problem is and know with confidence, that He will Work it out. Hear what the Queen of Gospel has to say about it!!!
